Gavin Paterson is a member of the investment department. He joined S&J in December 2007 from Charles Stanley where he provided advice and research to institutional clients, predominantly on UK smaller companies.
Born in 1972, Gavin graduated from the University of Paisley with an honours degree in business economics. After university he competed as a full-time amateur golfer for a couple of years before turning professional in 1996 and moving to Florida. Injury unfortunately helped bring an end to his golfing aspirations and he then joined Barclays Stockbrokers in 1999. He then worked for two other firms before joining S&J.
