Steven is the firm's Finance Director and Compliance Officer. In addition to these responsibilities, he also oversees the smooth running of the administration and custody functions.
Steven graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in accountancy. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG where, as auditor, he assisted Speirs & Jeffrey through the various regulatory changes back in the 1980s. Steven joined S&J in 1999 having spent a decade working with a Scottish conglomerate involved in manufacturing, distribution, property and construction. He became a S&J director in 2000, the first to have no direct client responsibilities.
