Clients

Advisory Service

Many clients like to receive investment advice but, ultimately, wish to decide for themselves whether or not to follow this advice. For such clients we provide valuations and portfolio reviews on a regular basis and, where appropriate, offer ad-hoc advice in between. It is up to the client to decide whether or not to act on our advice. We make no specific charge for our advice and so we only get paid for it (in the form of dealing commission) if and when a decision is made by the client to act on it.

The advantage of the advisory service is that the client retains total control over all investment decisions and so can be absolutely certain that transactions undertaken on their portfolio are appropriate to their circumstances and investment objectives. The disadvantage of the advisory service is that the client has to devote time and thought to investment decisions and this can sometimes lead to unavoidable delays and lost opportunities. For this reason increasing numbers of clients are electing for our Discretionary Service.
