Clients

Our Services

We offer advisory or discretionary portfolio management to individuals, family groups, charities and pension funds. Our advice encompasses equities, bonds, alternative assets and collective investment.

When we first talk to new clients we seek to clearly understand their investment objectives. Important aspects of this will be the desired balance between income generation and capital growth, tax status and risk tolerance. At this stage we will also agree whether our arrangement will be advisory or discretionary and agree the most helpful valuation review dates. For clients using our Discretionary Service we will agree the broad parameters within which we will have discretion to act without specific approval. Other considerations at this stage will be custody arrangements, including ISAs if appropriate.

Once we have a clear understanding of client requirements and preferences we are in a position to recommend an allocation between the main asset classes - equities, bonds, alternative assets and cash. Once the broad structure of the portfolio is agreed we can proceed to selecting appropriate individual investments in each class. For smaller portfolios or where we consider it appropriate to obtain a broad spread of exposure to a specialist area we may recommend the use of collective funds for some or all of the exposure.

Our charges for Advisory and Discretionary services are detailed here.
