Q. Do Speirs & Jeffrey provide Probate / Inheritance Tax Valuations of Estates?

A. Yes. We make the following charges on a sliding scale based on the value of the investments:

We may rebate all or part of these fees if sales of the investments are subsequently carried out through Speirs & Jeffrey.

Q. Can Speirs & Jeffrey deal for the Executors of an Estate?

A. Yes, we regularly act for executors of estates. In the main we are engaged and instructed by an intermediary (e.g. a solicitor administering an estate). We can act on the estate's behalf whether the shares are held in paper certificates or in an electronic nominee. Certificate of Confirmation of the appointment of the executors to act (or Grant of Probate in England) must be exhibited before transactions can be undertaken.
