Russell Crichton FCSI
Russell is Chief Executive. In this role he chairs our Investment and Operations Committees, leads the implementation of policy agreed by the Directors and leads the business. Aside from his responsibilities as Chief Executive he manages portfolios for charities, families and trusts.
After graduating from the University of Wales in Cardiff with a degree in economics, Russell worked in the institutional fund management industry for ten years. He was a fund manager with Murray Johnstone and then Norwich Union (Aviva) before joining Speirs & Jeffrey in 1997. He became a Director in 1999 and Chief Executive in 2011.
Outside S&J, Russell is actively involved in the management of several charities. He serves on the investment committee of the major Scottish charity - Erskine - and is a former Deacon of the Incorporation of Hammermen - one of the 14 crafts within the Trades House of Glasgow.
